Giving permissions to a directory recursively

Hi All,

I wish to give root permissions to a particular directory and all the files
and directories beneath that directory to a particular users. e.g.
/u01/permissions/*.

How do i do this using sudo? and what will be the syntax. i treid the sample
file but could not find things there.
