Directory level permissions

I have followed all notes on command alias for giving access recursivly but 
with no luck. this is the syntax i am using.



Cmnd_Alias      ATRIA1=/var/adm/atria/*

my users cannot do anything in the directoies below this top level. any help 
would be great.
