[sudo-users] sudo crontab -e gives me ED instead of vi

Hi folks,

 

Anyone come across not being able to sudo crontab -e?

Sudo version 1.6.9p3 on sol10 11/06

 

EDITOR and VISUAL are set in env parameters (both as the user I am
sudoing to root as and as root)

 

 

if I 

 

sudo su -

 

then 

 

crontab -e as root it works fine

 

But I want to lock sudo su -  down now that the boxes are going into
production.
