This is probably not helpful, but OSX seems to work like this: as best I can tell "administrative" users are just ones in the right group to be able to sudo root.  Everything then runs from a GUI, and there is clearly some kind of ticket-granting going on as it doesn't need to ask you for every operation.  The sudoers file on OSX doesn't seem to have anything odd in it (basically it is "%admin ALL=(ALL) ALL").  Anyway, understanding what OSX does might help.
