[sudo-users] Defaults:%administrators log_output shows garbled text on XEN virtual machines

Hello,

I have set up the following options on our sudoers file on a debian 6 XEN
virtual host we have on our datacenter.

Defaults:%administrators log_output
Defaults logfile=/var/log/sudo


The problem I see is that the the commands are not being logged correctly
as for example this is part of  the result of an ls command on my home
folder


cat /var/log/sudo-io/00/00/03/ttyout

����+���rIG�F���8���)�g����g����d���KG��Vd�pArb��~Yb�~N~�~qiJ�nf����@�8@

This set up works correctly in our test machines and physical servers.
Could you please let me know if this a know issue or there is a way to fix
it?
