[sudo-users] Issue with deleting users

I have an issue where I log in with a non-root account and sudo su - root to execute jobs. I then exit. Everything is fine unless I delete the non-root account that I started the jobs with. Is this normal for sudo to work this way. I assume it is a security feature but just need clarification.
