[sudo-users] sudo and group ownership

In preparing to clean up the filesystem for a person who is no longer with the company, I discovered that this person's group is the group owner for a number of /var/log/sudo-io/00/00/... files. I confirmed this is because the session "belongs" to them. If I change the group ownership to root is it going to impact sudo's reporting in any way?

Thanks for your help.
