Need some help in initiating sudo

Hi,
I have just installed the latest version of sudo in Sun Solaris 2.6.
I am not able to edit the sudoers file with the visudo command. I am able to
open the file but whatever I type and try to save it comes out with an error
-
"visudo : Editor (/usr/bin/vi) failed with exit status 53248, /etc/sudoers
unchanged".
