segment fault with latest solaris reco patch

I just installed Sun's latest recommended/security patch cluster for
Solaris 8 from SunSolve... now sudo does an interesting thing, first
time it is run:

$ sudo id
Password:
Segmentation Fault

$ sudo id
uid=0(root) gid=1(other)

First time (or after a timeout), sudo prompts for password then faults
(with no core file dropped). Second/subsequent times it works fine
(until timeout).

Tried with sudo 1.6.6 and 1.6.7p4 on Solaris 8, with gcc 2.95.2. Was
working good til the patch. Sun disowns any responsibility :-)
Configure options are:
./configure \
        --prefix=/usr \
        --sysconfdir=/etc \
        --localstatedir=/var/run \
        --with-pam \
        --with-logging=syslog \
        --without-lecture \
        --with-insults \
        --with-all-insults \
        --disable-root-sudo

Anyone else had a similar problem? How is the best way to get a core
dump in this circumstance? Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
