Hmm, I've never needed to edit /etc/pam.conf on Solaris for sudo to work. What version of sudo are you using? Are you using a sudo binary that was built on the same OS version you are trying to run it on? Did you run configure with the --with-pam option? If so, what happens if you don't? If not, try it. - todd
